Now if we can only find some photos of the ever illusive Blue Gascon...
Once you've had a look at them, come on back for more from Basset Tales.
According to Muriel Popkin, of Raregems Kennels, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen (pronounced pay-TEE bah-SAY gree-FON van-DAY-en,) or PBGV for short, is a sturdy medium-sized French hound 13 to 15 inches tall and 30 to 35 pounds in weight. His easy-to-maintain wiry coat is mostly white, with patches of black, orange, or grizzle.
According to Dave Hendrickson, the Basset-L and Noses-L Alpha Dog, BASSET-L is an e-mail list devoted exclusively to the Basset Hound fancier. Wheather you have an interest in tracking, obedience, conformation, field trialing, hunting, or simply enjoy your Basset(s) as pets, we want to make you feel right at home.
What another link? Yes, but we're busy working on our next issue full of stories and articles on things Basset.
The Basset and I
Many people may wonder how I came to have such affection for Bassets.
At last the story can be told. It's a coming of age story in the world of Bassets.
Watch how generations of Bassets effect the lives of one family.
Old Blue Eye
We've heard two stories of "bi-color-occulisim"
(phrase maker, what is this really called?)
That is, a Basset with a different color in each eye.
Well, Inquiring owners want to know what it's all about.
If you are familiar with this unique characteristic, write us and let us know what you've
learned.
