Hi,

We have a basset hound named Eugena (You-gina). She is 3 years old as of Oct 23, 1995 and is lemon and white in color. She loves people, running, playing and dinner time but is somewhat intimidated by other dog's (she thinks she is a "people").

See my home page at "http://www.pcnet.com/~edombro" where there is currently a drawing but eventually will be a picture of Eugena.

I am so happy that I finally found information about Bassets. I'm in college and have only been able to talk to just a few people who have or had Basset Hounds. My Basset is a tri-color male named Stewart. He is almost 6 mts. old and he is quite a character!!! He is everything that I had hoped he would be and more, I can't imagine life without him!

He loves people, children, grasshoppers, and anything laying around the carpet. I often tell my roommate that Hoover would have been a better name for him!!

One thing that I love about Stewart is his stubborness!! If he doesn't want to walk, he will literally flop himself down and lay there. You can tug and tug on the leash all day and it won't matter. He will then roll over on his back and expect you to pet him, once you do that, he'll resume walking. As you can see, we never get far in our walks, he'll repeat this over and over again!!!

*****Stewart is only going to be 6 mts. I'm still new to raising him. I would love to hear from anyone with advice or anything else that can help me.********

Thank you for having a Basset Net!!!!!

Our Basset, Perdi

I found this on the internet and had to respond. I gave my husband a Basset for his Birthday in March of 1994. Perdi will be 2 years old in Feb 96. She was the last of the litter and how she was passed up I will never know. My husband had a poodle at the time, the next day we shipped her out to his parents to retire. Our Perdi is a 4th child, loving, dedicated and faithful to us all. The kids love her and play with her and she looks after them. I wanted to change her name after a year to Nanna, she was so good to the kids.

My husband will never have any other dog now but a Basset, and that is how we all feel.

Sometime the kids get upset about her chewing up their toys, but they understand that she just wants to play with their toys so they have donated some that she has already "played with" for her own toy box. WHAT A DOG!!!!!!!!

I'll drop a picture or two of our two Bassets, Baxter and Boone. There favorite place is the sofa (it's not really ours), and a good rabbit hunt. I like you site. You can never get enough bassets.

Thank you for your page - and (to my surprise) the reference to my Web page (GUARDIAN ANGEL BASSET RESCUE)!!! I didn't even know I was showing up on any of the WebCrawlers yet, but thanks for the pointer. We're doing what we can to get going & the mail I've gotten so far has been very stimulating!

I plan to add a link to your site here (which is FANTASTIC! btw) as soon as I can.

Thanks again!

Thanks so much for your URL. My wife and I don't have a Basset yet, but we have located a breeder who has a Basset that is preggers. If they have a female that they don't want then we'll purchase her. Otherwise we are going to "rescue" a Basset (from Georgia). Thanks you for a wonderful page and providing a much needed service (the Georgia Resuer and links to The Basset Locator)!

And on the eighth day God created Bassets.

P. S. Yes I have no life, it revolves around Basset Hounds.

Subject: addition to The "Dougue's" Gallery please?

Hi!

My name is Monica, and I have just finished my first version of Emma's WWW page. Emma is an almost 4 month old Basset. I would love it if you would add her to The "Dougue's" Gallery page!

Thank you for your fine work of bringing the Basset resources together on the WWW.

Enjoy your basset page. we own two loveable bassets: Sherlock (3 yrs old) and Saydi (14mths). just acquired Saydi (we're the 4th owners of Saydi). Our Daisy passed away on 9/1/95. Sherlock was depressed so we looked for a companion. Saydi is an absolute delight, and Sherlock thinks so too!. Keep sending out the basset pages.

Bassets RULE!

Hi, my name is Bethany Hanson, and I am a fellow Basset Hound admirer. I shared eleven years of my life with a Basset named Sniffles. She was a great companion and we loved each other very much. Unfortunately, when I left for college she ran away from home and we could not find her. I hope that now she is resting peacefully in doggy heaven, with all the rabbit smells she could ever hope to investigate.

Thanks,
Bethany
