The Lord is the Tree and we are His branches reaching
out to bring others to Him.
The house of the community of the Resurrection sits high on a knoll looking over pastures of grazing sheep, forests and distant hills. One hundred and ten acres of forest land which is connected to a 2,000 acre forest with deer, moose, bear and all kinds of animals. Among the solitude of nature, a small group of women who are rooted in the Dominican spiritually and tradition of contemplative prayer balanced with service to others, are living their life dedicated to God.
We can see the grazing sheep from the chapel window.
It is a very peaceful scene with the mountains in the distance.
The sheep dogs guard the sheep night and day,
just like the Lord guards us.
We are rooted in the Dominican spiritually in our prayer
life as well as our work.
The members of the community of the Resurrection dedicate themselves to the service to who ever is in need. They help heal the broken hearts of those who had abortions; they give hope to prisoners, and encouragement to those who find the burdens of life too difficult to carry alone. They welcome those who need days of reflection and prayer.
The healing presence of animals, joy and laughter, the wood burning stove with the fire crackling on a cold winter's night all add to the warmth of family life that can be found in the little community of the Resurrection.
We welcome you.
People come by to get eggs, drop off dogs for us to
care for, to attend prayers, meetings, for a retreat....
or just to say hello.
What is a farm without simple living, drying our clothes
on the line in the clean mountain air.
Our farm house and barn have sat on this hill for many years,
leaving a charm of the past that we all can enjoy now.
The chapel is faced so we can look out at the mountains,
forests and grazing sheep....
a contemplative setting for all to enjoy.
We have gatherings and spiritual groups where we are constantly
learning new things to help our lives grow in the Lord.
View of the moon setting behind the distant mountains
as the morning light awakens.
Viewed from our house on the hill.
Summer photo of the mountains.
Turning around in the same spot you can see the cross and the
screened in porch where we have many fun times together.
Wish you were here ....
Thank you for visiting
