The 2004 Fourth Edition and the 2004 Windows Edition are now shipping. These editions contain comprehensive updates on 2003 Maine employment law legislation and important recent Maine Law Court, U.S. Supreme Court, and federal court employment law decisions. The Maine Employer's Handbook is a legal reference for Maine employers written by Lawrence C. Winger, Esq. and first published by Northern New England Law Publishers, Inc. in 1989. A second edition of the Maine Employer's Handbook was published in 1994. A third edition was published in December, 1998. The fourth edition was published in December, 2003. In 1997 Mr. Winger and Northern New England Law Publishers first published the Maine Employer's Handbook, Windows Edition, a computer software version of the handbook for use on personal computers running Windows 3.1 compatible operating systems. The handbook has been and continues to be updated yearly by Mr. Winger. The Handbook is currently used by over 900 Maine companies. The Windows version of the product contains the complete text of the hard copy handbook in Windows Help hypertext format plus (1) the full text of selected Maine labor and employment statutes, and (2) a Glossary of common labor and employment law terms.
